Derek Hough says being quarantined with girlfriend Hayley Erbert has brought them closer together: ‘It’s a beautiful thing’
Derek Hough is looking on the bright side while he is stuck at home during the coronavirus lockdown.
The 34-year-old professional dancer is enjoying being ‘cooped up’ with his girlfriend of almost five years Hayley Erbert, 25, and reveals the couple make time to do special date nights at home.
The TV personality admitted that the extra time with Hayley has been ‘great’ but for some couples it could make or break them.

He noted that couples are either ‘going to be, like, “OK, I don’t know if we’re for each other,” or it’s going to bring you closer.’
Derek told Us Weekly that the time at home with his girlfriend has ‘definitely brought us closer and it’s a beautiful thing.’
And the forced quarantine couldn’t have come at a better time, as the World of Dance judge revealed that before the coronavirus crisis Hayley had been asking to spend more quality time with her beau.

‘We got a lot of quality time, so it’s been great. It’s been really good.’
The couple have been spending their time bingeing shows on Netflix, doing dance routines which they document on Instagram and having dates in different areas of their house.
‘We have been having date nights, which has been nice. We’re getting ready, we’re going to go out to Club Living Room,’ he said.
‘We’re going to Chateau Kitchen and, yeah, we’ve been cooking together, which has been really, really nice and it’s been good.’

Asked whether the couple might start a family amid all the talk of a coronavirus baby boom, Derek played coy.
‘Who knows? Probably not,’ the star admitted but added that they’re more likely to add some pets to their family.
The couple have been together since 2015 after working together on Dancing With The Stars.
Derek is best known for his work on the ABC dancing competition.
But he moved to World Of Dance in 2017 when it first debuted on NBC.
