Married At First Sight: The REAL reason Vanessa Romito refused to attend the reunion

Married At First Sight EXCLUSIVE: The REAL reason Vanessa Romito refused to attend the reunion – and stayed in her hotel instead after flying to Sydney

Vanessa Romito was a no-show at Tuesday’s Married At First Sight’s reunion.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that the 31-year-old pulled out after flying into Sydney from Perth in mid-January, ahead of filming commencing on the 15th.

A source close to the show claims that Vanessa refused to attend as she no longer wanted to see ex-‘husband’ Chris Nicholls, or be apart of any of the fighting.

The insider said on Wednesday: ‘Vanessa pretty much made her mind up before landing in Sydney – and producers allowed it under their duty of care.

‘She made it clear she didn’t want to be in a setting as dramatic as the dinner party after filming the girls’ night in November, so they let her sit it out. She wasn’t apart of any integral storylines so it had no effect on the episode.’

As all of the cast returned to Sydney for filming in January, producers split Chris and Vanessa up – with her staying in a hotel in Chatswood, and him in Surry Hills.

However, Vanessa did attend the second reunion, where all of the cast sat down with the relationship experts, but her and Chris did not discuss their ‘marriage’.

It is believed they will be edited out as much as possible, and barely seen on screen.

Chris told NW on Monday that they were kept away from the cameras because producers feared she would make unverified and false claims about him.

‘I was advised that I was being protected by not giving Vanessa a platform,’ he said.

At the start of the season, Chris and Vanessa’s ‘marriage’ abruptly ended on the show, with no real context or explanation.

Since then, they’ve both accused the other of ‘gaslighting’ them, and claimed producers edited out most of their fights, giving them minimal airtime.

The brunette’s absence on Tuesday did not go unnoticed by viewers.

Many took to Twitter and Instagram to question her mysterious no-show, asking where she was and why nobody had mentioned her once.
