Fran Drescher set to reunite with the cast of The Nanny for digital table read of the show’s pilot episode
The cast of The Nanny are reuniting for a virtual version of their beloved 90s sitcom.
Star and creator Fran Drescher revealed that she and her co-stars got together via video conference for a very special #PandemicPerformance of the show’s pilot episode.
The flashy girl from Flushing was joined by male lead Charles Shaughnessy and more favorites as she teased the online table read, which will stream April 6 on the Sony Pictures YouTube.

The Nanny’s cast was all crammed together on Zoom, dressed down in casual duds for the online get together.
In addition to Drescher and Shaughnessy, who played patriarch Max Sheffield, there were his onscreen offspring Madeline Zima, Benjamin Salisbury and Nicholle Tom.
Also there was Daniel Davis (butler/chauffeur Niles), Lauren Lane (CC Babcock, Max’s business partner), Renee Taylor (Fran’s mom Sylvia), and Rachel Chagall (Fran’s BFF Val.)

Supporting players Jonathan Penner (Fran’s ex Danny), guest stars Alex Sternin, Dee Dee Rescher, intro singer Ann Hampton Callaway, and co-creator Peter Marc Jacobson also joined.
Fran talked to Variety about the reunion, explaining: ‘Laughter is the best medicine!’
‘So, in these challenging times, Petah[ co-creator, Peter Marc Jacobson] and I thought, wouldn’t it be great if we pulled together the original cast of The Nanny for a virtual read of the pilot?’

Drescher currently stars on the NBC comedy Indebted and is helping develop a Broadway version of The Nanny.
