Fleur East admits coronavirus concerns having met Prince Charles just two weeks before he tested positive for COVID-19… and performs rap about lockdown

Fleur East has revealed she was concerned about potentially having contracted coronavirus from Prince Charles, after it was revealed he tested positive for COVID-19 two weeks after she met him.

Appearing on The One Show on Wednesday, the singer, 32, recalled how she met the Prince Of Wales at the Prince’s Trust Awards earlier this month – at which he kept forgetting that hand-shaking was not allowed.

She reassured hosts of the show Alex Jones and Patrick Kielty: ‘It was 14 days ago, so I’m safe. 14 days is the clear window.

‘He just kept forgetting to not shake people’s hands. He kept reaching out.’

She added: ‘I didn’t know how to greet a royal full stop; let alone in these times!’

Fleur also lamented not being able to meet and greet her own fans, following the release of her latest album last week, due to the UK lockdown, which was enforced on Monday.

‘I am sad that I couldn’t meet fans and hug them. But also it’s a good time to have music out and help get people through this time.’

She also performed a rap she’d written about the current pandemic.

Against the backing track of Work From Home by Firth Harmony, she rapped: ‘It’s getting difficult, yeah it’s pretty crazy / but you can stay at home and nobody can call you lazy.

‘Think about it. Every time you called in sick every alarm you snoozed every sick note every trick.

‘Think of every annoying colleague the one’s who sold you juice / now you can stay at home with a legitimate excuse.

‘At the supermarket / instead of cleaning the shelves / you should stay at home that’s what’s really good for your health.

‘Look at toilet paper / what’s wrong with us / you can wash your bum in the shower / like what’s the fuss.

‘I know things are out of balance, I know things are kinda off / I used to cough to hide a fart and now I fart to hide a cough.’
