Bachelor star forced to become Instagram model after coronavirus shutdown

‘I lost both my jobs’: Bachelor star Jessica Brody forced to become social media influencer after coronavirus shutdown leaves her unable to work as a bartender and makeup artist

Former Bachelor star Jessica Brody has been forced to turn to social media influencing in a bid to make money after becoming unemployed.

On Monday, the 31-year-old told a fan on Instagram that she’d lost both of her jobs due to the coronavirus shutdown.

The Melbourne-based beauty worked as a makeup artist and bartender, but the recent shutdown of bars and clubs, in addition to social distancing rules, has left her unable to work in either field.

Since falling on hard times, Jessica appears to have turned to social media influencing to make ends meet.

Despite boasting a sizeable Instagram following of 270,000 followers, the former tattoo model rarely shares sponsored posts like other reality stars do.

However, in the last week, Jessica has started sharing posts promoting the online clothing retailer Pretty Little Thing.

‘All dressed up with no place to hoe,’ she captioned one photo of herself modelling a leopard print frock from the brand.

The brunette bombshell also launched her own YouTube channel this week, which may be another way for her to monetise her social media following.

In one video on the channel, Jessica admitted that she’s worked as a makeup artist her entire life and isn’t sure what else she could do for a career.

‘I’ve been an MUA since I was 18 and it’s sort of all I know,’ she admitted, before adding: ‘I also do bartending.’

Jessica briefly appeared on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor last year as an intruder.

She will return to the small screen some time this year in the upcoming third season of Bachelor In Paradise.

While the show will no doubt bring her more Instagram followers and possibly sponsorships, she will be unable to fully cash in on her return to reality TV due to the coronavirus.

Participants on reality shows like Love Island and Married At First Sight can make thousands of dollars doing lucrative club appearances after their show airs.

However, with bars and clubs now closed for the foreseeable future, Jessica and her Paradise co-stars will be unable to cash in on the new season.
