Gwyneth Paltrow posts a video ‘love letter to Italy’ during coronavirus crisis

Gwyneth Paltrow took to Instagram on Thursday to reminisce about her experiences in Italy.

The Oscar-winning star said the Boot holds a place in her heart as it is where her father Bruce Paltrow died and also where second husband Brad Falchuk proposed. And she shared a lovely throwback video showing her roaming throughout the European country.

In the lengthy caption, the 47-year-old tied it in to the tragedy the European country is facing from the coronavirus pandemic with an encouraging message urging her followers to ‘heed these very real warnings so that this unprecedented crisis might pass quickly.’

The video, which she titled ‘A Love Letter to Italy,’ shows a youthful Gwyneth in a striped black and white sweater driving through the hills of Tuscany, sipping on espresso, making cheese and partaking in a lot more lovely Italian activities.

In the caption, the Politician actress reflected, ‘My first trip to Italy was at the end of 1991. I had miraculously booked a TV movie that would start in the new year, so I quit my job at the fish restaurant in Santa Monica, borrowed money from my agent, and hopped on a plane.’

Gwyneth went on to reminisce about her first trip to Italy, which made quite an impression on her, and then she remembered that her ‘next trip there was a few years later, when we moved to Rome to start preproduction on The Talented Mr. Ripley. I spent months succumbing to the delicious wildness of the south, with its incredible food and warm-hearted entropy.

‘When this crisis started, we held Italy, China, South Korea, Iran, and the other countries affected in our prayers, and now we have all followed suit,’ she wrote.

‘Each of these places has shown us what strength, resilience, and community can do during these surreal times, strictly restricting movement, with some even singing from their balconies,’ Gwyneth continued.

‘I wish for all of us to heed these very real warnings so that this unprecedented crisis might pass quickly.

‘Stay home. Make pasta. FaceTime your grandma,’ she concluded. ‘We will get through this.’
