Sandra Bullock’s ex Jesse James splits from wife after seven years of marriage

West Coast Choppers founder Jesse James has split from drag racer Alexis DeJoria after seven ‘amazing’ years of marriage.

The reality star, 50, announced their separation Tuesday on Instagram, where he posted a lengthy statement in addition to photos from happier times.  

Jesse, who was previously married to actress Sandra Bullock, wrote: ‘I know a lot of you have been asking if I will be attending the NHRA races this year to work on Alexis’ funny car. 

‘Its with an incredible amount of sadness to let you know Alexis and I have decided to end our marriage. We spent close to seven amazing years together. Working on her race car for five of those years was one of the highlights of my life. Also a highlight was trying my best to be a good dad to her daughter. 

‘Something that will leave a huge hole in my heart forever. Unfortunately at the end of the day our lives were just headed in different directions. Creating a distance that was insurmountable. I wish her the absolute best in her racing and life. I hope you can respect our privacy in this tough time. Thank you. #jessejames.’ 

Alexis is the daughter of billionaire entrepreneur John Paul DeJoria, co-founder of the Paul Mitchell hair care products line and Patron Spirits Company.

Jesse tied the knot with Alexis in 2013, and the marriage made him a stepfather to her now 17-year-old daughter, Isabella DeJoria.

Jesse believed he was going to remain single for the rest of his life until he met Isabella. 

He told DailyMail.com in 2017: ‘It’s just a different deal this time and it just happened.

‘I was like, I’m just going to be that old dude who’s single now and never find anybody else, and then it’s like – there she is.

‘We like the same stuff, the same music, the same everything. We like all these things. It makes me look back at other relationships and be like, I was an idiot! What was I thinking? That was never going to work. But I guess that’s how you learn, you know.’

The marriage to Isbaella was Jesse’s fourth, and occurred just three years after he divorced his third wife, Sandra Bullock, following a cheating scandal. 

 It emerged in 2009 that Jesse had cheated on her with tattooed model Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee.

Two other women, stripper Melissa Smith and Los Angeles photographer Brigitte Daguerre also came forward claiming to have had affairs with James.

In April 2010, he checked himself into a rehab facility in Arizona after apologizing profusely to Bullock, although that wasn’t enough to save the marriage – they divorced the following June.

James told DailyMail.com: ‘Yeah, I did cheat on my wife, yeah, I stood up and took accountability for it and apologized. And that’s end of story. Everything else was just… [shakes his head]’.

Sandra has since moved on to photographer Bryan Randall, whom she has been dating since 2015.
