Gary Barlow shrugs off coronavirus fears as he grabs a coffee in London despite the ongoing outbreak

Despite the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, Gary Barlow seemed to be unconcerned as he was seen out and about on Tuesday.

The Take That star, 49, appeared nonchalant as he carried on about his business, and stepped out to grab some coffee in Notting Hill.

Gary kept things casual for the outing, as he donned a dark brown jacket over a red plaid button-up shirt.

Gary completed his look by wearing a pair of beige trousers, while he stepped out in dark brown brogues.

His blonde locks were slicked back into a straight style, and the singer had a close-cropped beard for a ruggedly handsome look.

Officials recorded the biggest daily spike in cases yet, with 407 patients diagnosed in the past 24 hours – meaning 1,950 Britons have now caught the life-threatening virus that has left the UK engulfed in fear.

It comes after the government’s chief scientific adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance, today admitted there are likely to be around 55,000 cases of coronavirus currently in the UK, calling the staggering figure a ‘reasonable ballpark’.

The estimate was based on a model of one death per 1,000 patients, which means the true number of infected people could now be as high as 70,000 – and many people could have no idea they’ve got the illness. A study published in a scientific journal this week suggested that 86 per cent of infected patients in China were unaware.

Last week the government estimated the number of cases was likely to be between 5,000 and 10,000 but the numbers are expected to have soared since. A total of 50,442 people have now been tested, with 48,492 of those tests coming back negative.

Gary was planning on taking a new role as a musical ambassador for P&O Cruises, after he was named musical director of the ship’s 710 Club.

As well as working on P&0 cruises as a musical director, Gary was set to make his fans dreams come by meeting them on-board the luxury vessel.

Gary is supposedly set to be playing on the trip from Southampton to the Norwegian Fjords on August 29, and on October 31 to Spain and Portugal.

However, due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak it is unclear if the cruises, and Gary’s appearance on them, will go ahead as planned.
