Westworld star John Gallagher Jr. claps back at a fan who BASHED his performance in the Season 3 premiere: ‘It’s incredibly rude!’

One of the new stars of Westworld in Season 3, John Gallagher Jr., found himself clapping back at a rude fan following the premiere on Sunday night.

The 35-year-old actor responded to a fan, who thought he wasn’t needed in the cast this season since he wasn’t a fan of his work on another HBO series, The Newsroom.

The fan, @michaelquotes1, even went to the trouble of tagging Gallagher Jr., who plays Liam, and he got a response from the actor himself.

He originally praised the episode as ‘solid,’ particularly Maeve’s (Thandie Newton) story line and the debut of former NFL star Marshawn Lynch.

But then he added another tweet, which read, ‘Also we didn’t need @JohnGallagherJr brought back – his insufferable run in The Newsroom was enough.’

Gallagher Jr. responded about 10 minutes later, taking the fan to task for tagging him while bashing him.

‘Hey man. Can’t believe you need to be told this but it’s incredibly rude and graceless to tag an actor when criticizing them,’ Gallagher Jr. began.

‘By all means, hate my work and go off on me all you want, plenty critics have, but please don’t @ me when you’re doing it. Thanks,’ he concluded.

Gallagher Jr. was a new casting addition this season, playing a character named Liam Dempsey Jr., a billionaire who has been involved with Dolores’ (Evan Rachel Wood) new alter-ego Lara.

It was revealed in the episode that his father developed a system that would enable him to chart a course for every single person that he thought would save the world.

Dolores was getting close to him so she could try and access the system, but she was outed by Liam’s associate Martin (Tommy Flanagan).

While it seemed that Martin and his people got the best of Dolores, she ultimately woke up and killed several of the men herself.

Gallagher Jr.’s Liam appears to be quite an important character who should be sticking around for the entire eight-episode run.

Though, now that his connection to Dolores has been severed, it remains to be seen how she will try to access his father’s system now.

Westworld continues its Season 3 run with the second episode, The Winter Line, on Sunday, March 22 at 9 PM ET on HBO.
