‘You bring the money home and I’ll spend it’: Married At First Sight’s Stacey Hampton tells ‘husband’ Michael Goonan she aspires to be a ‘trophy wife’

After visiting Stacey Hampton’s home on Monday’s episode of Married At First Sight, Michael Goonan was left shocked by how high maintenance his ‘wife’ is.

As they cooked in Stacey’s kitchen, the conversation turned to their future together, with Michael, 28, revealing they had plans to move in together after the show.

Michael asked Stacey, 26, what she was planning to do for work, and her response left him dumbstruck.

‘Well, I’ll do the cooking, you go to work, you bring the money home, and that’s just how it is,’ she told him.

A surprised Michael asked Stacey if she wanted a ‘full traditional’ relationship, and she said she did.

‘Yeah, and I’ll spend it,’ she added of Michael’s money, prompting the millionaire businessman to raise his eyebrows.

Michael later confessed his home stay at Stacey’s house was causing him to have doubts about the future of their relationship.

‘I want a credit card,’ Stacey added.

Her bluntness left Michael reeling, with the usually outspoken MAFS star left uncharacteristically speechless.

‘I mean, I think we’ve confirmed what we already know. Stacey Hampton’s a little bit pretentious,’ he later said.

When Michael asked Stacey if ‘housewife’ was her ‘calling’, she quickly corrected him, telling him she thought of herself as a ‘trophy wife’.

‘What you want is someone who’s genuinely going to be there for who you are as a person, not what you’ve got,’ said Michael.

Married At First Sight continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine
