Amy Shark offers her $2.25million Gold Coast home to Tom Hanks for ‘quarantine’ after he and wife Rita Wilson tested positive for coronavirus

Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday while staying on the Gold Coast.

And on Friday, Australian singer-songwriter Amy Shark made a generous offer to the Hollywood couple, both 63, amid their forced quarantine. 

The Adore hitmaker, 32, offered Tom and Rita her $2.25 million waterfront home in Broadbeach so they could experience their lockdown in comfort.

She tweeted on Friday: 'Hey @tomhanks I am away but I have a house on the Gold Coast you can borrow for 14 days of isolation. Leave your germs everywhere I don't care. Netflix and Wi-Fi password on kitchen bench'

Amy and her husband, Shane Billings, bought the five-bedroom property in December 2018, just one month after winning three ARIA Awards. 

The stunning two-storey home has a pool and private recording studio.

‘Hello folks. @ritawilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us,’ he wrote. 

‘We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness.

The two-time Oscar winner said that he and Rita ‘are taking it one day at a time’ amid the global health crisis.

Announcing their diagnosis, the Forrest Gump star wrote on Instagram on Thursday: ‘Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. 

‘To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus, and were found to be positive.’
