Alison and Cameron recently revealed the surprising secret behind their 28-year marriage.

Appearing on Channel Seven’s The Morning Show in January, the couple said that having separate bathrooms had helped their marriage immensely over the years.

‘We’ve had a couple of houses with separate bathrooms and it worked really well!’ Cameron told hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies.

‘But the home we’re in now doesn’t have one and we’re like, “Damn, we need separate bathrooms!”‘ he added.

Earlier in the interview, Alison said that going to therapy had been the best thing for their relationship, after Cameron had cheated on her in the ’90s.

‘[The infidelity] happened very early in our marriage, we were both very young,’ she said of her husband’s betrayal.

Alison admitted that their marriage was hardly ‘couple goals’, but they worked on it and are better off today.

‘You don’t get to 28 years of marriage without a hell of a lot of work and struggles – and a fair chunk of pain and tears,’ she said.

The couple, who wed in 1991, opened up about their past troubles during an interview on Studio 10 last year.
