Married At First Sight: Editing fail shocks viewers in Queensland and South Australia

Did you notice it? Married At First Sight editing fail leaves viewers in Queensland and South Australia speechless before Liz and Seb’s date

A shocking editing fail on Tuesday’s episode of Married At First Sight had viewers in both Queensland and South Australia scratching their heads in confusion.

Whereas fans from the two states can recognise the difference between Adelaide and the Gold Coast, it appeared the show’s post-production team are unable to.

On Tuesday night, scenic shots of Surfer’s Paradise appeared on screen to introduce Elizabeth Sobinoff and Seb Guilhaus’ ‘hometown’ date in Adelaide.

The show featured a shot of the Gold Coast skyline, footage of beach-goers walking past Queensland’s famed Surfer’s Paradise sign and then the beach.

A graphic flashed on screen reading: ‘Elizabeth and Seb. Adelaide, SA.’

It then cut to Elizabeth and Seb’s date at Adelaide’s Ice ArenA in Thebarton, where the couple spent the afternoon ice skating.

After the blunder was pointed out by Instagram fan pages, many slammed the show.

‘Looks to be right on track with the rest of this train wreck season,’ commented one viewer on Instagram page MAFSfunny.

‘Yeh I live in Adelaide and I was like, “Ahhhh nope”,’ laughed a second fan.

A third joked: ‘Haha lol Surfer’s Paradise in Adelaide.’

The current season of MAFS has been packed full of editing fails.

During Sunday’s episode, Steve Burley’s went from having a goatee to being completely clean shaven in a split second.

The bizarre blunder created the impression that Steve’s therapy session with ‘wife’ Mishel Karen was filmed over the course of several days.

It appeared producers had cut up footage from Steve at two different commitment ceremonies, filmed weeks apart, and edited them together to fake his reactions.
