Beauty icon Charlotte Tilbury, 47, is creating an £22.3m west London mega-mansion with three dressing rooms and yoga studio after knocking two neighbouring homes together

Celebrity make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury has lodged plans to create an £18.5million super-mansion.

The 47-year-old beauty icon’s new five-storey property in west London, will boast a wine cellar, drawing room, dining room and five bedrooms.

It will also have three dressing rooms, a sitting room, a yoga studio and a separate annexe for her staff to live in.

Tilbury, who set up Charlotte Tilbury Beauty seven years ago which posted revenues of £145million in October last year, purchased an £18.5million house in the exclusive west London district last year. 

She later purchased the neighbouring flat, for £3.8million – a combined total of £22.3million.

She now plans to knock through to join the two properties together to create the mega mansion. The proposals have been given the go-ahead by the local council.

A source said: ‘It’s a lavish property and will be the ultimate dream home. The couple are enjoying making their mark on it.’

Tilbury’s firm was was set up in 2013 at Selfridges in London.  It has grown rapidly since, with items such as Magic Cream, stocked in Harrods and Harvey Nichols, bestsellers.

It opened two overseas stores last summer, in Los Angeles and Hong Kong. It now has a total of eight 8 shops overseas.

In August, it emerged that cosmetics giant Estee Lauder was prepared to pay up $1billion for a takeover, but walked away after the retailer reportedly demanded $1.4bn to sell.

Ms Tilbury is still listed as the only director which means she will be in line for a payout which could run to hundreds of millions of pounds if she sells her business.   

She is known for her work with A-list celebrities like Nicole Kidman and Emma Roberts. 

She also names her lipsticks after women who inspire her, such as lawyer Amal Clooney, wife of George.

Her Magic Cream product, stocked in Harrods and Harvey Nichols, is a bestsellers.

Tilbury also works closely with charity Women for Women International which helps women survivors of war rebuild their lives and recently pledged a £1million donation to help their work.

She said of their work: ‘It’s a charity that is so close to my heart, and I am a Global Ambassador for them.’

Tilbury is married to film producer George Waud and together they have two sons, Flynn and Valentine.
