Meghan Trainor reveals her father is doing ‘much better’ just over two weeks after being struck by car: ‘At first it was really, really scary’
Meghan Trainor’s father, Gary Trainor, continues to improve two-and-a-half weeks after being struck by a car.
The All About That Bass singer revealed it was ‘really, really scary’ when she first got word that he was hit while crossing a busy street on foot in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles on February 21.
‘But he’s so much better,’ she said in an interview with People, adding, ‘the hardest thing for him is to stop moving. So we’re like, just rest, and he’s like, hate it.’

The accident happened on a Friday night when Meghan was out of town in London, without her husband Daryl Sabara.
Turns out she learned about the harrowing news of her father online.
‘None of us were here [Los Angeles] except my husband, and he saw the worst of it. We were just FaceTiming the whole time going home and not knowing – like, we heard our information from TMZ,’ the Massachusetts native added.
‘So weird, when you’re in the “famous’ world” how that’s where I’m getting my information from.’

After being transported to a local hospital, the 71-year-old was soon listed in stable condition.
Meghan took to social media two days later to update her fans about his recovery and heap praise on him.
‘I’m with my dad now. Thank you for all your sweet messages. It was all scary but he is the strongest man I know,’ she wrote alongside a praying and a pink love heart emoji.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said the female driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and that no crime had been committed.
As a result, the incident has been deemed an accident, to this point.
The driver explained to officers Gary Trainor was wearing very dark clothes and that she couldn’t see him before it was too late, according to TMZ.
