Katy Perry reveals her strange pregnancy cravings and her obsession with Tabasco sauce

Katy Perry has developed some rather unusual cravings since falling pregnant with her fiancé Orlando Bloom. 

Speaking to Nova’s Smallzy’s Surgery on Monday, the pop-star, 35, revealed she’s become obsessed with spice and even carries around a bottle of Tabasco hot sauce her wherever she goes. 

Describing her cravings as ‘weird’, Katy said: ‘I’m not a fan of spicy foods and all of a sudden all I want to eat is spice.’ 

The Roar singer explained that a friend gave her a bedazzled bottle of Tabasco before she became pregnant last year. 

‘[After becoming pregnant], I literally pulled out this bedazzled Tabasco bottle [and said], ‘You are my holy grail, I will bring you everywhere” she said.  

‘I’ve never been a fan of spice, but spice up your life!’ Katy added. 

During the interview, Katy also explained why she decided to debut her baby news in the video clip for her new single Never Worn White.   

‘I was like, ‘Well I either do this now or it comes out like crazy [way],” she said.  

Katy has also spoken about her pregnancy cravings and aversions during an Instagram Live video last week.  

During a Q&A with fans, Katy admitted that she’s been ‘eating the same burrito for weeks on end,’ and that she’s developed a love for dried mango. 

She also spoke of her adoration for hot sauce: ‘I like, literally, never cared for spice, and now, I have to carry Tobasco sauce in my purse like that woman…. Some people have essential oils, and I have Tobasco sauce!’ 

As for what disgusts her now that she’s pregnant, Katy said: Actually a food that grosses me out now is beef.’

‘Thank God for Impossible Burger because that basically tastes like red meat and when I do want it, I do that,’ she added.
