Real Housewives Of New York veteran Ramona Singer reveals she’s been diagnosed with Lyme Disease 

Real Housewives Of New York’s Ramona Singer is battling Lyme Disease.

The Bravo favorite, 63, revealed her diagnosis via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, sharing a video of the many supplements she’s been using to help with her symptoms.

Singer started the video clip by thanking friend and fellow Housewife Dorinda Medley for suggesting the holistic healing methods.

Ramona was casual as she made the reveal.

She told followers: ‘I was diagnosed, everyone with Lyme disease today and Dorinda swears by this to help with my immunity, so this will be on my way to a faster recovery.’

The assortment of bottles included several alkaline supplements which claim to ‘increase immune function through an alkaline diet.’ 

The reality personality shared more details about her diagnosis with E! News on Thursday, telling the network she feels ‘very lucky and very blessed’ to have detected the illness in its early stages.

Ramona explained how she began to experience strange symptoms around Valentine’s Day, prompting her to visit internist Dr. Bernard Schayes on a friend’s recommendation.

She was initially given the steroid Prednisone to deal with her congestion and slight fever. The medication provided a brief relief, but soon after her symptoms returned.

After Singer’s blood tests returned Dr. Schayes concluded she was suffering from Lyme, which she is currently taking antibiotics for.

Though she’s not 100% sure, Ramona thinks she contracted the tick-borne illness while in the Hamptons, one of the star’s frequent haunts.

She urged people to be vigilant about the disease, telling E!: ‘You must get tested once a year, especially if you’re in an area where there are deer. But, we caught it early and I’m very lucky and very blessed.’

Despite her diagnosis Singer, a mother-of-one, said that she’s feeling fine, if not a little tired.

And her outlook seems good according to her physician.

[My doctor] said everything else is great,’ she told the site. ‘”You’re a strong woman, very healthy and you can easily live to 95.” I told him I want to live to 100.’ 

Singer isn’t the only Bravo figure suffering from Lyme. Beverly Hills housewife Yolanda Hadid has been candid about her condition, even dedicating an entire book to her struggle. Two of her model children, Bella and Anwar, also cope with Lyme.

Talking about her journey while speaking at the Global Lyme Alliance Gala in 2018, she said: ‘What keeps me awake at night is not my journey the journey of my children and so many children in the world that don’t get the proper treatments that they deserve.’

‘Living in today’s world is hard enough as a healthy child. It’s time that we all put an end to this. If I die next week, next month, next year — this is the most, the greatest cause I have ever fought for.’ 

Other notable Lyme survivors include Justin Bieber, Shania Twain, Avril Lavigne, Ben Stille, Alec Baldwin, Kelly Osbourne, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and Kathleen Hannah.

Bieber revealed his health status in January, taking to Instagram to explain why he’s looked a little worse for wear lately. 

‘While a lot of people kept saying Justin Bieber looks like s***, on meth etc. they failed to realize I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my, skin, brain function, energy, and overall health,’ he shared.

‘It’s been a rough couple years but getting the right treatment that will help treat this so far incurable disease and I will be back and better than ever.’
