The Prodigy pay tribute to late frontman Keith Flint on the one-year anniversary of his death

The Prodigy have paid a touching tribute to late frontman Keith Flint on the one-year anniversary of his death.

The founding member of the group died on March 4 2019, aged 49, and his bandmates Liam Howlett and Maxim have admitted they miss him every day.

Alongside throwback snaps of the singer and one of the trio, the band tweeted: ‘One year has gone by since you left us, we miss you everyday man, your light blazes strong.

Keith’s body was discovered at his Essex home and Chelmsford Coroner’s Court heard Flint died from hanging and had unspecified amounts of cocaine, alcohol and codeine in his system at the time.

Police attended the singer’s home at the time and found there were no suspicious circumstances and there was no third party involvement.

Essex senior coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray said there was insufficient evidence to show he had committed suicide, saying: ‘To record that I would have to have found that, on the balance of probabilities, Mr Flint formed the idea and took a deliberate action, knowing it would result in his death.’

She also found insufficient evidence to conclude his death was the result of an accident, for example if he had been ‘larking around and it all went horribly wrong’.

Mrs Beasley-Murray added: ‘We will never know what was going on in his mind on that date, so that’s why I am going to record an open conclusion.’

Keith was remembered during the Grammy Awards’ In Memoriam segment in January.

Following Keith’s death, the band cancelled all of their planned tour dates, including a slot at the 2019 Glastonbury festival. However, songwriter and producer, Liam, confirmed in August that The Prodigy had gone back in the studio for the first time since Keith died.

He didn’t say whether Keith would feature posthumously on any of the new material.

As the anniversary approached, Keith’s country estate was finally sold for £1.4million.

Just days before Flint was found dead at his 15th century rustic estate in North End, Essex, he had put the property up for sale through Andersons estate agents, based in nearby Dunmow.

The listing was taken down after he passed away while his family dealt with his financial affairs.

It was put back on the market five months later in August for £1.5million and has now sold for a loss at £1.4million.

The six-acre estate boasts four bedrooms, four receptions rooms, a gym and several farm outbuildings.

Flint’s estate was reportedly worth £11.3 million, but he owed £7.3 million in taxes and debt.

Andersons confirmed in August that the property is available online and open for viewings at the time.

Photos taken over the summer show the estate appearing eerily abandoned.

Animal-loving Keith had eight dogs, but the line of kennels in the property’s stony driveway lay empty.

His PR confirmed that all his pooches have all been rehoused.

There was an outpouring of grief with fans visiting the home and leaving dozens of cards and flowers.

But they were removed and, in their place, was placed a single flower tied to the main wooden gates.

Mr Flint had made more than £1.5million in the past two years with The Prodigy releasing its seventh consecutive number one album, No Tourists, in November 2018 and starting their 2019 world tour.

But the star, who battled depression, had recently split with his Japanese wife Mayumi and put the £1.5million mansion ‘he loved’ in Dunmow, Essex, up for sale on the eve of his death.

Mr Flint had admitted he would spend his money rather than keep it for a rainy day and said in 2015: ‘I’m not saving for anything. I’m cashing it all now. I’ve always had this thing inside me that, when I’m done, I’ll kill myself.’
