Bride and Prejudice’s Catherine Johnson reveals how she has been coping since the death of her daughter Milly’s ex-fiancé Micah Downey – who passed away from a drug overdose
Bride and Prejudice star Micah Downey died at the age of 26 on Saturday, December 28, after taking a mixture of illegal and prescription drugs.
Micah left behind his ex-fiancée Milly Johnson, who starred on the show with him, and the couple’s son Micah Harper Johnson, born on January 27.
Milly’s mother Catherine Johnson revealed on her daughter’s Instagram Story on Wednesday how she has been coping since Micah’s tragic passing.

Responding directly to an Instagram fan’s question on how she reacted to the terrible news, Catherine said: ‘[I felt] terrible. I mean, it was a tragic, tragic story.’
She added: ‘And I saw my daughter once again breaking… her heart was broken.’
Milly, 23, announced Micah’s death on Instagram on New Year’s Eve.
‘It is so sad and unbelievably surreal that I am making this post. On the 28th of December 2019, Micah Patrick Downey passed away,’ she wrote.

‘I am struggling to put into words how sad and heartbreaking this is. I just hope he is at peace wherever he is and that he will always be watching over his babies.
‘A bad, bad dream. I can’t believe you’re not here. Rest in peace, Micah.’
Micah’s former drug counsellor, Jodi Barber, confirmed the cause of death to be a drug overdose on Facebook, writing: ‘Micah’s parents don’t want this to happen to another young life. They understand it was preventable!’
Milly welcomed a baby boy, just one month after the tragic death of Micah.

She told her Instagram followers in late January that she had named her son ‘Micah’ after his late father.
‘Feeling so much love for a little life that I delivered into the world on Monday 27 January 2020 at 6:46pm,’ she captioned a photo of herself and the newborn.
She added: ‘A healthy baby boy weighing 3680g (8lbs). Micah Harper Johnson.’
In addition to the newborn, Milly and Micah also shared another son, two-year-old Julian.
The former couple appeared on the 2019 season of Bride and Prejudice, but their relationship didn’t last and they split before walking down the aisle.
