She’s been home sick with a mystery illness over the last few days.

And on Tuesday, Samantha Armytage shared a sweet love letter from a young admirer as she returned to her day job at Channel Seven’s Sunrise.

‘Because there’s so much awful stuff on social media, here’s something lovely,’ the 43-year-old wrote on Instagram Stories, sharing a photograph of the note.

‘Every Monday-Friday I wake up at 5.30am and tune in to Sunrise,’ Samantha’s admirer, a 12-year-old boy named Joseph wrote.

‘I’ve been watching it now for 2 years and everyday she looks so pretty and that’s why I admire her. That’s pretty much all I have to say,’ he finished.

Meanwhile, a flattered Sam responded to the letter by writing: ‘This is all you needed to say… thank you Joseph xx’.

The Instagram post comes after the Sunrise presenter was unable to join her co-hosts last Wednesday morning because of an unspecified illness.

‘While mumma’s at home sick as a dog,’ she wrote Instagram, sharing a weary selfie with her Labrador, Banjo.

The television presenter went on to share a Channel Seven publicity package, promoting the upcoming competition series, Pooch Perfect.

‘The dog is getting presents. Thanks Channel 7,’ she continued.

In the picture, her dog was covered by a blue gym towel with Pooch Perfect’s logo emblazoned across it.

Sam went on to reveal the big winner of the package was the dog biscuits, adding, ‘the Schmackos were the favourite thing in the goodie bag.’
