Did you notice it? The telling moment that hints Married At First Sight is ‘fake’ – but there could also be a very simple explanation

Eagle-eyed Married At First Sight fans have spotted a potential clue that wedding guests are being ‘fed lines’ by producers.

During Monday night’s episode, one of Seb Guilhaus’ groomsmen appeared to be wearing an earpiece at the reception.

While there were some rumblings on MAFS Facebook groups about the device, it’s also possible it was a hearing aid.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for comment and clarification.

It’s not uncommon for the very sight of an earpiece to spark rumours a reality show has been staged for entertainment purposes.

During the fifth season of The Bachelor, Matthew Johnson was spotted wearing a discreet earpiece at a rose ceremony.

At the time, Channel 10 spokesperson said the device was ‘occasionally required’ to keep Matthew in contact with ‘the director if there are technical difficulties with cameras, audio and lighting’.

They added that the earpiece was only ever used during rose ceremonies and never when Matty was talking to contestants privately.

Despite this explanation, the earpiece sighting became a cause célèbre as Matthew had previously stressed he wasn’t following instructions from producers.

‘I just want to say to you ladies that I’m not some puppet that’s just being told what to do,’ he said earlier in the season.

‘When I pick someone for a single date, that’s because I picked them myself. I decide who goes on those dates.

‘When you receive a rose in the rose ceremony, that’s because it’s entirely my decision. There is no one who’s telling me what to do when people need to leave.

‘I am here purely because I want to find someone and I hope you can appreciate that.’
