The Blue Heelers star shares three children with art director husband Tim Disney: sons Archer, 18, Oliver, 16, and daughter Remy, 14.

Lisa’s Hamlet co-star Harriet Gordon-Anderson had asked her, in their published conversation: ‘How do you feel being a mother of sons?’

‘I am trying to empower my sons and say to them that it’s an interesting time for men at the moment. They are incredibly respectful of women.’

On the advice she had shared with her children, Lisa said: ‘I say to my kids “just own everything and always be accepting and just know that you can change.’

‘They have a good attitude, but I am mindful they are young. They will make mistakes.’

She said she acknowledge that no one is perfect, and young kids need a big dose of forgiveness from time to time.

Lisa, who is a four-time Gold Logie Award-winning actress, claimed she has a hunch her children will be excited about seeing her upcoming play, Hamlet.

She joked that in the past they haven’t shown interest in her other theatre projects.

Hamlet will tour Sydney until April 4, before moving to Melbourne until May 10 – tickets can be purchased through BellShakespeare.com.au
