From a games room with an eye-catching mural to a bedroom that’s an oasis of calm, these photos represent some of the very best in British interior design.
The properties have each been recognised in the 2020 Best of Houzz Awards, which celebrate the country’s most admired houses.
The awards are handed out to celebrate the work of just 3 per cent of the more than 2.5million home professionals listed on Houzz, a leading platform for home renovation and design, based on users’ votes.
The images below each represent regional finalists across a number of rooms – including gardens, master bedrooms and home office – and it is easy to see why they proved so popular.

Surrey: This master bedroom features a bold blue feature wall and ample built-in storage. Pantone named ‘classic blue’ as their colour of the year for 2020, and this simple yet desirable room is bang on trend. Design: Slightly Quirky
Cornwall: This dreamy sea view designed by LEIVARS, a design practice winning Best of Houzz Design for 6 consecutive years, compliments its beachside setting with coastal styling. Design: LEIVARS
Edinburgh (left): With vibrant colours and lots of greenery, this fun home office by Victoria Hopkins Interiors was a popular design among users.
