Abbey Gelmi recently confirmed her romance with AFL star Kane Lambert.

But before finding love with the professional footy player, she was married to Sky News Racing presenter Ben Way.

The Channel Seven Olympics host tied the knot with Ben in 2019, before quietly splitting in 2019.

Ben popped the question during a romantic beachside proposal in North Bondi in 2018, after the couple had been dating for three and a half years.

At the time, Abbey uploaded a series of images of the proposal to Instagram.

‘A thousand times yes,’ Abbey captioned the romantic images.

Speaking to WHO magazine days after the proposal, Abbey reflected on the couple’s love story, saying it was the long drives to the Sky News studio before she moved to Seven that cemented their relationship.

‘He is easily the best thing that’s come out of my involvement in any sports media, so it’s nice.’

The former couple split quietly last year with very little media attention.
