The Bachelor’s Jacinta ‘Jay’ Lal admits it WASN’T ‘love at first sight’ when she met pilot Jimmy Nicholson

She’s currently still in the running to win Jimmy Nicholson’s heart on the 2021 season of The Bachelor.

But on Monday, Jacinta ‘Jay’ Lal admitted it definitely wasn’t ‘love at first sight’ when she met the hunky pilot on the red carpet.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, the 31-year-old revealed: ‘I have never ever experienced love at first sight.

The plot thickens: On Monday, Bachelor star Jacinta ‘Jay’ Lal admitted it definitely wasn’t ‘love at first sight’ when she met the hunky pilot on the red carpet. Both pictured

‘I can see an attractive guy and know he is good looking or hot, but it is not until I really get to know the person that I can see whether there will be a future.’

The reality show is filmed months in advance – and so Jimmy, 31, has already chosen his winner even before the season has even aired.

But Jacinta, who is online bookmakers’ fourth favourite to win, kept coy when asked if she was ‘in love’ with him.

‘I don’t know if I can answer that,’ she said.

Despite her words, Jay certainly made an impression on Jimmy when they first met – with him even choosing her to receive a special key to the ‘Business Class Lounge’  to spend one-on-one time with him.

However, the bookie’s firm favourite remains to be glamorous marketing manager Holly Kingston, 27, according to both Sportsbet and TAB.

As of Monday, Holly’s odds of winning are currently $1.50 on Sportsbet and just $1.10 on TAB.

Sportsbet is tipping Brooke Cleal for runner-up and Lily Price for third place, while TAB lists Brooke for second and Ashleigh Freckleton for third.

Holly’s extremely short odds suggest some degree of insider knowledge that she is a strong contender to win.

The Bachelor is filmed in advance and there are plenty of people – including the cast, crew and publicists – who know the outcome.

It’s possible one of these insiders leaked the result, causing a surge in online bets.

However, there are several other reasons why Holly may have such short odds.

For example, the bookies may have researched her chances of winning based on fan speculation online or by analysing trailers and other publicity material.

They may also have read press reports about Jimmy and Holly already having a mutual friend in former Miss Universe contender Francesca Hung.
