Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway reuniting with Devil Wears Prada co-stars Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci to auction off joint Zoom call for charity

The four main stars of The Devil Wears Prada are reuniting to auction off a joint 10-minute Zoom call for charity.

Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are banding together in aid of the Lollipop Theater Network.

Bidding is open until August 3 at CharityBuzz and the winner will be allowed a single Zoom call where all four celebrities will be present.

David Frankel directed the 2006 movie which screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna adapted from the Lauren Weisberger novel of the same name.

Lauren had worked as an assistant for Anna Wintour at Vogue and so her book was widely regarded as having been based on her real life.

Meryl played Miranda Preistley, the cold and ruthless fashion editor of the title, while Anne played her naive assistant Andy Sachs.

Anna, who once had the nickname ‘Nuclear Wintour,’ took the publicity in stride and attended the premiere of the film wearing Prada.

Iconic: Stanley Tucci who delivered a scene-stealing performance as the waspish Nigel Kipling is joining the Zoom as well

The special included not just cast members but also the director, the screenwriter and the novelist as well as names like costume designer Patricia Field.

While discussing her character Meryl quoted the old line from Lord Acton that ‘Absolute power corrupts absolutely.’

She added: ‘I liked that there wasn’t any backing away from the horrible parts of her, and the real scary parts of her had to do with the fact that she didn’t try to ingratiate, which is always the female emollient in any situation where you want your way – what my friend Carrie Fisher used to call “the squeezy and tilty” of it all.’

When Carrie adapted her own roman a clef Postcards From The Edge into a film directed by Mike Nichols the lead was played by Meryl.
