‘For me it’s just about overall health and wellness, I have a varied training program that has been tailored to keeping my body performing at its best,’ he added.

Buddy credits ice baths with helping to keep him in peak condition on the back of a stellar 17-year career in the AFL.

When he’s not training, Buddy said he enjoys exercising alongside his wife of five years, model Jesinta Franklin.

The couple are parents to daughter Tullulah, one, and son Rocky, four months, and they make a point of exercising together as a family.

‘We love to exercise as a family as a great way to all bond together, going for walks and taking the kids to the park is something we love doing,’ he said.

‘We started doing Pilates together when she was pregnant with Tullulah and that’s something we really enjoyed, too.’

In a post on Instagram in August last year, Jesinta, 29, said it wasn’t until five-and-a-half months after welcoming Tullulah that she felt ready to exercise again.

‘Physically my body recovered very quickly from birth, however, mentally I just haven’t been ready to workout,’ she said at the time.

She added: ‘Looking forward to building my strength and fitness so I can keep up with my daughter who is growing and getting heavier by the day.’
