A terrified homeowner got more than she bargained for after she discovered a tree snake had made itself at home in her filing cabinet.

The shocked resident had opened the top drawer of the filing cabinet to find the common tree snake curled up in between the documents.

The horrified homeowner slammed the drawer shut before calling Stu from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers to relocate the scaly intruder.

The professional snake handler starts to search for the reptile in-between the files of the bottom drawer of the cabinet but has no luck.

One of the residents is seen hiding behind a door as they wait for the brazen animal to be revealed.

Moving on to the top drawer, Stu uses his snake hook and a torch to seek out the tree snake, finally grabbing hold of the reptile’s tail with his bare hands.

The snake begins to writhe around in his hands as he lifts the reptile from the warm enclosure.

‘Well I’m really glad I didn’t try and lift him out’, the horrified woman says.

‘It’s crazy how he got in though, he looked pretty secure’, the snake handler replies.

The homeowners allowed Stu to release the tree snake back into their garden,  something the handler says doesn’t happen very often.
