Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou reveals she struggles with body image and admits she isn’t ‘as confident as I should be’


Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has spoken about her struggles with body image.

The 44-year-old told The Daily Telegraph on Monday, body image is something she has battled with.

‘I’m not going to lie and say that there haven’t been times that I am not as confident as I should be,’ she said.

Ada continued: ‘We all have those moments and I still do now, but for the majority of times I surround myself with people I love.’

‘I think overall I am confident in my own skin.’

The actress went on to say she stays in shape by eating healthy and exercising daily’.

In April, Ada told Who magazine that she considers exercise a form of self-care as she balances her busy career with raising her son Johnas.

‘I make sure that my exercise is a priority – that means I’m a priority, too,’ she said.

‘Once I get my weekly schedule from work, the first thing I do is map out when I’ll exercise. I will write this into my diary and basically set a date with myself,’ she added.

‘My workouts are time for myself, so they’re very important to me and always have been.’

Ada tries to get to bed early so she’s up at 4.30am for a 30-minute training session before work.

She likes to exercise three to four times a week, and her regimen includes a combination of weight training, cardio, boxing, Pilates and walks, plus a few sessions with a personal trainer.
