Adam Sandler reacts to IHOP’s all-you-can-drink Milkshake Monday event created in his honor after he was turned away from busy restaurant

Adam Sandler gave IHOP a shout out on Monday after attending their all-you-can-drink milkshake event that the restaurant chain created in his honor.

‘Thank u IHOP for Milkshake Monday’ the actor wrote on Twitter with a picture of his bulldog Bagel licking his lips after a tasty treat at the event.

Sandler went viral last month after an IHOP employee revealed her embarrassment at not recognizing the Blended actor when he asked for a table at a very busy Long Island location.

Approved: Adam Sandler gave a thumbs up to IHOP after it created Milkshake Monday in his honor. He shared a photo of his dog Bagel at the event next to a table of shakes

A TikTok video showed the 54-year-old Just Go With It actor leaving the restaurant after the hostess told him it would be a 30-minute wait for a table for Sandler and his daughter.

In response to the post, Sandler jokingly wrote on Twitter that it wasn’t the wait that made him leave the restaurant, but the lack of all-you-can-eat choices.

‘For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to the milkshakes.’ the Hollywood star wrote on May 3.

It didn’t take the breakfast chain long to seize on the opportunity to please the movie star as they tweeted back the next day: ‘You know what, @AdamSandler, you may be onto something here. In your honor, we’d like to declare May 10th, 2021 #MilkshakeMonday at IHOP. More sweet details to follow.’

Later on IHOP clarified that the Milkshake Monday would only take place at its 19 Long Island locations from 12pm to 8pm on Monday, May 10.

Nationwide, the company marked the day by donating $1 to the nonprofit Comedy Gives Back for every milkshake sold, up to $50,000.

The whole IHOP debacle came to light when hostess Dayanna Rodas posted a video on TikTok, calling herself a clown after she failed to recognize Sandler and told him it would be a 30minute wait for a table.

Dayanna uploaded a security camera shot of Sandler and his daughter interacting with uniform-clad hostess briefly before politely leaving.

She wrote on top: ‘Not realizing it’s Adam Sandler and telling him it’s a 30 minute wait and him ofc leaving because he’s not going to wait 30 minutes for IHOP.’

The video was captioned: ‘Pleaseee come back #comedy #fyp #foryou #viral #adamsandler’ set to the song Be A Clown by Osuna.

She also took to TikTok the following day, sharing a screen grab from a Daily Dot story about her video, adding, ‘I didn’t think it was gonna go viral.’

Sandler’s publicist confirmed to The Huffington Post that it was Sandler in the video, but did not provide any further details.

Many viewers commended both Dayanna for not giving Sandler the celebrity special treatment, and Sandler for not expecting special treatment and leaving politely.

‘At least he didn’t use his fame to rush anything,’ one person commented while another added, ‘I used to serve him regularly.’

Another person with experience serving Sandler said, ‘Never served a nicer person,’ while another added, ‘And he didn’t pull the celebrity card either.’

Other commenters said the worker did the right thing by treating him just like a ‘regular person.’
