Has Emma Corrin come out? The Crown star calls herself a ‘queer bride’ after posing in a wedding gown

Emma Corrin has appeared to announce that she is ‘queer’.

The Crown actress, 25, took to Instagram on Thursday as she shared a picture from her new spread in Pop magazine where she was clad in a wedding dress and veil.

She simply captioned the image: ‘ur fave queer bride’.

Speaking out: Emma Corrin appeared to announce that she is queer in an Instagram post on Thursday after previously keeping tight-lipped on her dating life

The post comes after it was announced Emma will star in LGBTQ+ drama My Policeman alongside Harry Styles.

Emma has kept tight-lipped on any talk surrounding her sexuality and dating life.

Back in October, she was asked by Stella magazine if there was a ‘boyfriend on the scene’, and replied: ‘I’d rather navigate this on my own. It’s nicer to feel like I’m taking care of me.’

MailOnline has contacted Emma’s representatives for comment.

Emma’s statement comes as she prepares to take on a role in My Policeman, where she plays a wife caught up in a polysexual love triangle.

Set in Brighton in the late 1957 the film, which is based on Bethan Roberts’ novel, focuses on police officer Tom (Harry Styles), who is gay but chooses to marry schoolteacher Marion due to social expectations in the era.

Despite this, Tom embarks on an affair with Patrick (David Dawson) after the latter falls in love at first sight when they meet at Brighton Museum years later.

Marion becomes jealous when she discovers their passionate relationship, and decides to take drastic action during a time when homosexuality was illegal.

Rupert Everett will appear as the older version of Patrick in the film, while Harry will be replaced by Linus Roache.

The 2012 novel explores the sexual mores of the 1950s and the criminalisation of homosexuality.

Emma soared into the spotlight last year with her breakout role as Princess Diana in Netflix’s The Crown.

The British star plays the late Royal in the fourth series of the drama, in a role which has won her widespread critical acclaim.
