The series is filmed between Rome and London and focuses on a story about finance, power and disenchantments.

Patrick plays Dominic Morgan, one of the most powerful men in global finance, Massimo’s mentor and CEO of the bank.

Patrick’s co-star Alessandro Borghi [Massimo Ruggeri] is a ruthless and ambitious Head of Trading of one of the most important investment banks in the world, the New York – London Investment Bank.

During the first series their deep bond began to crack when Massimo gets involved in an inter-continental financial war, due to Dominic’s hidden agenda.

Though Patrik is more of an important supporting character on the series, he shares top billing with its lead Borghi, best known to American audiences for starring on Netflix’s crime thriller Suburra: Blood On Rome.

Shortly after Dominic promotes one of Massimo’s colleagues over him, Massimo learns he’s the main suspect in a murder investigation.

He faces the choice of supporting or opposing Dominic in a global financial war, all while trying to prove he’s not a murderer.

The show’s strong reviews and the fact that it is in English made Devils an attractive acquisition for the network.

It also reunites Dempsey with CW boss Mark Pedowitz, who was previously the head of ABC Studios for the first few seasons of Grey’s Anatomy.

Though Dempsey has had a success film and television career, he’s best known for his 10-year stint on Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Derek ‘McDreamy’ Shepherd from 2005–2015.

Other foreign CW acquisitions include the Canadian drama series Coroner and the British sitcom Dead Pixels, about a group of gamers obsessed with an online game.
