Madonna is ‘back in the saddle’ after cracking three ribs and breaking her collarbone in serious horseback-riding accident more than 15 years ago


Madonna revealed she was ‘back in the saddle’ after suffering multiple broken bones during a horseback riding incident in 2005.  

More than 15 years after getting thrown from a horse on her 47th birthday and sustaining three broken ribs, a fractured collarbone and hand, the superstar shared a video of herself riding again on Tuesday.  

‘Back in the saddle where I belong!’ the seven-time Grammy winner, 62, captioned the footage of herself enjoying some equine therapy. ‘Never say never.’  

Returning to the stables: Madonna revealed she was ‘back in the saddle’ after suffering multiple broken bones after getting thrown from a horse in the summer of 2005

The recording begins with the Queen of Pop walking with a beautiful white horse to a stable, then stretching before getting into the saddle. 

‘That was so fun!’ she said after finishing her horseback-riding session, taking a bow and playfully showing off her biceps. 

For the lively day, the mother-of-six wore a Gucci sweatshirt under a padded black vest, black gloves and a riding helmet.

Immediately after recovering from her 2005 horse riding accident, she got back up on the horse again for the first time on an episode of The Late Show with David Letterman. 

When asked why she hadn’t been on a horse since her fall just months prior, she admitted her record company was ‘not very keen on the idea’ of her injuring’ herself again.

‘I have a bit of excitement tainted with fear,’ she confessed before climbing on for a short ride down 53rd Street in Manhattan. 

Later in 2009, the pop star later suffered minor injuries in another horse accident, while visiting a friend in South Hampton.

But Madonna hasn’t let her incidents slow her down from enjoying the activity all over of the world when she can squeeze in the time.
