Declan Donnelly has been seen with wife Ali Astall for the first time since a ‘professional’ burglary gang targeted their £5 million home.

The TV presenter, 45, appeared to be putting on a brave face after the ordeal as he was seen smiling whilst he and his other half, 43, took their dog for a walk in London on Wednesday.

He kept a tight hold of his pet pooch as he strolled around his neighbourhood, while Ali had her hands firmly in her pockets during the walk.

Dec put on a casual display as he wore a black jacket over a logo T-shirt, which he teamed with dark jeans and black trainers.

Ali, meanwhile, looked effortlessly chic in a black longline coat that she wore over a pair of grey gym leggings with a camouflage-print.

She pulled her blonde locks back into a tight ponytail, and she shielded her eyes with a pair of chic shades.

It was revealed on Wednesday that Dec’s £5million home was targeted while the TV star was asleep upstairs with his wife and young daughter.

Police rushed to his West London home shortly after 1am yesterday following a 999 call.

Dec – one half of presenting duo Ant and Dec – his wife Ali and their two-year-old daughter Isla were all asleep upstairs in the seven-bedroom home.

The suspects had botched an attempt to rip open the iron gates at the front of the property – which was purchased by Mr Donnelly for £1.9million in 2006.

They fled in a car shortly before officers arrived.

The Donnellys were only aware that the burglars – understood to have been a ‘professional’ gang – targeted their home when the police told them.  

A source told The Sun: ‘Dec and Ali weren’t disturbed. The first they realised anything was amiss was in the morning.’

‘The robbers couldn’t force the gates open and that’s what made them give up, and flee.’

Met Police officers conducted inquiries along the street today and forensic checks were carried out. 

The force confirmed that the suspects left the scene prior to police arriving and there was no evidence to suggest they gained access to the house. No arrests have been made. 

On Wednesday, a locksmith wearing a facemask and gloves was seen fixing the iron gates outside Dec’s home, reinforcing his security following the scare.
