Former Home and Away star Tammin Sursok reveals doctors have found a large cyst in her ovary after being rushed to hospital

Former Home and Away actress Tammin Sursok has revealed she was rushed to hospital over the weekend. 

And on Tuesday, the 37-year-ols shared an update on her health via Instagram, revealing that doctors had found a large cyst in her right ovary.  

In an Instagram post, the brunette shared a photo of herself looking pained while lying in her hospital bed, surrounded by photoshopped screen-grabs of comments from her Instagram followers.

Tammin wrote in the lengthy caption: ‘After a lot of tests we found out I have a large cyst in my right ovary. I will now be ok and going forward, knowing what it is, can manage and fix the problem.’ 

She noted that after sharing her journey, ‘thousands’ of her followers reached out to her with their heartbreaking stories of misdiagnoses and struggles with pain management.

‘So many of you also said that this subject is not really spoken about and how alone it makes you feel. So let’s talk about it.

‘Let’s make women’s health a priority. It is completely unacceptable that so many live in constant pain and anguish with no real answers,’ she wrote.

The South African-born Australian thanked her fans for their support and urged women to find their answers and research to help bring change to the health issue.

It comes after Tammin revealed she was open to the idea of having another baby.

In an Instagram Q&A with her followers last month, a fan asked: ‘Will you have another baby?’ 

The former soap star responded: ‘Not sure… Going to leave it up to a higher power!’  

Tammin is a doting mother to two daughters – Phoenix, seven, and Lennon, two – who she shares with her film husband director Sean McEwen.

The couple met in 2007, when she was auditioning for his film Albino Farm. The couple married in 2011 in Florence, Italy.
