Phillip Schofield was in for a treat on Thursday’s This Morning as he celebrated his 59th birthday in style.
Despite him apparently ‘hating’ birthdays, the presenter happily received a cake made by co-star Holly Willoughby’s three children as she celebrated with him backstage before the show.
Then during the programme, there were more surprises in store as he was then presented with a three-course meal and champagne in a mock British Airways First Class cabin.

Phillip’s day kicked off with him entering the ITV studio and greeted to a plethora of colourful balloons and banners wishing him a Happy Birthday as Holly, 40, and the crew marked his big day.
The host documented the occasion on his Instagram stories, which also saw him enjoy a socially-distanced drink with his This Morning colleagues.
Phillip was also treated to a huge birthday breakfast which included marmite sausages and bacon sandwiches as got fuelled up for the day’s celebrations ahead.

But before the show began, there was another sweet moment in which Holly presented her pal with a cake lovingly made by her children Harry, 11, Belle, nine and six-year-old Chester.
Captioning her own images of Phil with his cake, Holly penned: ‘Happy birthday to this gorgeous human… love you to bits @schofe forever my partner in laughter….’
Holly and their colleagues sang a resounding chorus of Happy Birthday To You as a delighted Phil then blew out his candles.

Later on the show, Holly presented her pal with yet another cake, with this one made of biscuits, and of which Phil could smash to bits.
Presenting him with the sweat treat, Holly said: ‘I know how much you love this because you hate birthdays. You’ve got hammer there, you don’t cut this cake, you wack it and then it breaks up all the biscuits.
‘It’s so beautiful you almost don’t want to ruin it.’

Phil then proceeded to smash the cake with as Holly laughed beside him, before he then went on to describe his impressive breakfast he’d had earlier that morning.
But the birthday gifts were not over for the Dancing On Ice star as Holly then revealed that he was to get First Class treatment in a mock British Airways cabin which was set up in the studio.
After receiving his ticket from Holly and making his way over to his cabin seat, Phil was then presented with a luxurious three-course meal which included smoked salmon, beef cheeks and a dark chocolate dessert.

Phil then washed things down with a glass of champagne and nibbled on a selection of British cheeses, all of which was served by the show’s production assistant Graham, who works for BA when not at This Morning.
Following his gift, Phil then thanked Graham as well as British Airways for the lovely gift.
Phil’s celebrations come just weeks after Holly’s big 40th in February which saw her hit the booze at 10am, tuck into cake and enjoy a beach party live on air.

Holly was surprised with the party in the studio by her co-host Phillip and wiped away tears while receiving gifts from her loved ones.
The beauty had also slipped into a dress her mum Linda, 73, wore on her own 40th birthday in tribute to her, as she was unable to spend the day with her due to Covid restrictions.
