Amy Schumer brings her son Gene to see her father for the first time in one year after practicing social distancing due to the pandemic: ‘Big day’

She’s taking things one day at a time when it comes to navigating the pandemic with a young child at home.

And Amy Schumer was finally able to bring her nearly two-year-old son Gene to visit with her father Gordon after almost one year of no contact due to the coronavirus and his pre-existing conditions with a Multiple sclerosis diagnosis.

The 39-year-old comedian shared a heartwarming photo of the family finally reunited after a difficult year apart while posting a collection from their adventures.

Happy: Amy Schumer was finally able to bring her nearly two-year-old son Gene to visit with her father Gordon after almost one year of no contact due to the coronavirus and his pre-existing conditions with a Multiple sclerosis diagnosis

Amy cradled her son in her arms while wearing a white KN95 mask to protect herself and others amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Her little one carried a pacifier in his mouth and wore a red-and-blue plaid shirt to match his grandpa’s black check button-up.

‘Big day,’ she wrote. ‘First real visit with my dad in a year. Learned my mom can play the shofar and we started dressing Gene like the guy at the party with drugs. How was your day?’

In 2015, Amy told Barbara Walters that her father was sometimes ‘really good’ with his MS diagnosis and other days can be ‘so painful.’

‘In terms of my dad being sick, it was just confusing to me, especially the way MS works. He was in physical pain. That’s when I kind of took the lead and took care of everybody in my family. I would keep them — I would keep everybody laughing.’
