A thrifty mother has found a simple solution for blocking out the glaring light coming in through the sides of her roller blinds.

The woman, from Tasmania, filled in the annoying gaps between her roller blinds and the window frame using PVC moulding from Bunnings.

The two pieces of moulding cost her just $5.30 each.

To fill in the gaps, she simply trimmed the moulding so it could fit perfectly in the angled corners, then she sprayed painted them to match her grey-coloured blinds.

‘Just wanted to share a little hack I done with roller blinds,’ the savvy mother wrote in a Facebook group.

‘I didn’t like the little gap they leave either side so I done some thinking of how I could cover them without spending an arm and a leg. So I came up with this idea.’

After sharing her DIY method, dozens were impressed with her efforts, saying they are now keen to eliminate the gap for good using her trick.

Many said it’s a common dilemma they face in their homes, while others described the mum’s method as ‘brilliant’, ‘clever’, and ‘now that’s a hack’.

‘Great idea. I hate the gaps too. Always feels like there is someone on the other side looking in,’ one wrote.
