They’re the much-adored married This Morning co-hosts, who have been together for over two decades.

But on Thursday, Ruth Langsford, 60, admitted that she gets irritated by the sound of Eamonn Holmes, 61, chewing or BREATHING – a disorder known as misophonia.

The Loose Women presenter also joked that she has ‘fantasised about his death’ as she shared an image initially posted to Instagram by her husband.

Yikes! On Thursday, Ruth Langsford, 60, admitted that she gets irritated by the sound of Eamonn Holmes, 61, chewing or BREATHING – a disorder known as misophonia

The image was of two dolls sat around a dinner table, with the caption: ‘She loved him. But when she heard him chew she fantasised about his death.’

Next to the image, Eamonn wrote: ‘This is an actual thing in our House. Mrs Holmes suffers from a condition which makes her sensitive to me even breathing.

‘And I hear other couples may be similar. I’m thinking of writing to Dear Deidre.’

Sharing Eamonn’s post to her own page, Ruth admitted her husband was telling the truth and added: ‘She REALLY did!!! Anyone else?’

According to Web MD, misophonia is: ‘A disorder in which certain sounds trigger emotional or physiological responses that some might perceive as unreasonable given the circumstance.

‘Those who have misophonia might describe it as when a sound ‘drives you crazy.’ Their reactions can range from anger and annoyance to panic and the need to flee.’

Ruth and Eamonn have been together since 1997 and married for the past decade after tying the knot in 2010. They share 18-year-old son, Jack.

Eamonn already had three children from his first marriage to Gabrielle Holmes when he met Ruth.

In December, Eamonn and his wife Ruth hosted their final Friday show on This Morning, before Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary replaced them.

During their final Friday show, Eamonn made a dig about bosses ‘getting rid’ of them during a chat about discounted trees, before the pair both grew emotional while saying goodbye.

During their sign off, Eamonn said: ‘You won’t be watching us anymore on a Friday, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary will be here on Fridays here on in.

‘Please we would ask you to be as nice and lovely to them, friends of ours as they are, we’re very close to Alison and she has been to us for the past 15 years.

‘We appreciate all of the love you have sent to us today, we send it all back to you, have a very merry Christmas, it’s been lovely having you and I think we will see everybody again.’

Ruth added: ‘We will see everybody again in February, you’ve haven’t got rid of us, we’re back for the half term. So it’s a tricky year for everybody and we hope we helped you a little bit and thank you, have a merry Christmas see you in February’.

It was claimed that the longtime presenters were been told to keep quiet about their axing. According to sources, the presenters have been advised to not address losing their slot on the ITV programme to avoid missing out on more work opportunities.

A source told The Sun: ‘Ruth and Eamonn are obviously upset and feel humiliated about being put out to pasture. But they’ve been advised to keep schtum or risk losing more work. It could damage their brand if they lash out.’

MailOnline has previously contacted representatives for Eamonn, Ruth and ITV for comment.
