Alaskan Bush People star Billy Brown dies at age 68 after suffering a seizure… as his son Bear Brown says he is ‘heartbroken’

Billy Brown of the TV show Alaskan Bush People died at the age of 68 on Sunday.

His son Bear Brown shared the news on social media on Monday afternoon. 

‘We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night after suffering from a seizure,’ 33-year-old Bear wrote on his private Instagram account.

The star shared a photo of his hunter and fisherman dad Billy as well as his mother Ami Brown.

‘He was our best friend — a wonderful and loving dad, granddad and husband and he will be dearly missed.’

Brown added, ‘He lived his life on his terms, off the grid and off the land and taught us to live like that as well.’

Bear also said: ‘We plan to honor his legacy going forward, and to continue with his dream. We ask for privacy and prayers during this painful time. God Bless Everyone!’

Discovery had worked with the patriarch since 2014.

Ami, 57, had been diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017 causing her family to move to North Cascade Mountains in Washington. In 2018 she was told she was cancer free. 

Alaskan Bush People is a reality documentary style TV show that follows Billy and his wife Ami as well as their seven children – five sons and two daughters – in Copper River Valley.

The family lived off the grid in the wild where they went months without seeing other human beings.

His wife had been sick: Ami, 57, had been diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017 causing her family to move to North Cascade Mountains in Washington. In 2018 she was told she was cancer free; seen in 2014

They called themselves the Wolf Pack because the stuck together and developed their own dialect.

The sons are Matt, Bam Bam, Bear, Gabe, Noah, and the daughters are Birdy and Rainy. 

The last episode of their show aired in October. The synopsis: It’s late fall and the Browns kickstart their ambitious cabin build. Bam and Gabe go on a deer hunt as the family scrambles to pull off an ‘extreme’ wedding on the mountain, but days before the ceremony, things take an unexpected turn. 

Billy grew up in Texas. At the age of 16 his mother, father and sister died in a plane crash.
