Police have launched a murder probe after a 25-year-old man was found dead in Reading as detectives hunt for the attacker.
Officers were called to an altercation in Dulnan Close, Tilehurst, just before 7pm on Saturday, where they found a man with multiple injuries, and who they later said had died in a ‘tragic incident’.
The Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit has launched a murder investigation and is urging anyone with information to contact Thames Valley Police.
Police stop and search orders have been put in place for the entire area of Reading until 9pm on Sunday following the incident, Thames Valley Police said in a statement.

The victim’s family has been informed and no arrests have been made.
Superintendent Nick John, Reading’s local policing area commander, said the section 60 order was being used ‘to prevent any re-occurrence of such incidents’.
‘What has happened this evening will undoubtedly cause concern in the local community and I would like to reassure you all that we are conducting a thorough investigation into this tragic incident.
‘During the period in which the order is in place, there will be an increase of police officers,’ he added.

‘Using these increased powers, officers are able to stop and search anybody within a defined area while it is activated, with or without reasonable grounds to do so.
‘Please don’t be worried if you are stopped by an officer, as this does not mean that you are in trouble.
‘Do not hesitate to speak to one of our officers with any concerns that you may have. They will be happy to address these with you and also offer any advice or reassurance.’
