Kate Langbroek reveals a weird detail Bridgerton – and you’ll never watch it the same again

You’ll never watch Bridgerton the same way again: Radio host Kate Langbroek reveals a weird detail about the Netflix hit that has women around the world swooning

It’s the hot and heavy Netflix period drama which has taken the world by storm since its release last month.

But on Thursday, KIIS 101.1’s 3pm Pick Up host Kate Langbroek made a bizarre observation about the hit show, which could change the way viewers watch the raunchy episodes for good.

While the 55-year-old enjoyed the passionate drama, she couldn’t get over the fact it was set in the ‘olden days’ – a period when, she points out, ‘people really smelt’.

Revolting! On Thursday, KIIS 101.1’s 3pm Pick Up host Kate Langbroek made a somewhat revolting observation about Bridgerton, which could change the way viewers watch the raunchy episodes for good

‘People absolutely stank. Blue cheese would have smelt like Chanel No. 5,’ she laughed.

‘They were rancid! People were literally rancid.’

Kate’s co-host Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond agreed, adding: ‘All I could think about is there’s no showers anywhere to be seen. They don’t go and fill up a bucket and wash themselves.

‘I’m not wearing a corset for a week and… can you imagine the pungent smell underneath?’

Huge hit: The first series had a strong focus on the love story of Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, played by Regé-Jean Page, and Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor

Kate then cheekily asked: ‘Who would you be more repulsed by?’

To which Monty responded: ‘I think the female!’

‘Also, your smell isn’t designed to attract you – men go mad for that,’ Kate crudely added. ‘They just love it – it’s like you’ve been eating mackerel!’

Bridgerton itself has been watched by a whopping 82 million households worldwide in just a month, making it Netflix’s biggest show ever.

The eight-part series, which was launched on Christmas Day, is now the streaming giant’s most watched show in 83 countries including the UK, France and US.

Although recently released, Bridgerton has easily overtaken the previous top spot holder, The Witcher, which received 76 million streams in its first 28 days.

The first series had a strong focus on the love story of Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, played by Regé-Jean Page, and Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor.

It is believed that the second season will begin production in spring, but Netflix has yet to confirm which characters will be officially returning for series two.
