Rehearsal footage for an ABC news bulletin accidentally makes it to air

ABC viewers are treated to a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes as the rehearsal footage for a news bulletin accidentally makes it to air

ABC viewers got more than they bargained for when they tuned into the TV channel on Friday night.

Host Yvonne Yong was preparing for The World news broadcast when her rehearsal accidentally made it to air.

Seemingly unaware she was live, the TV anchor could be seen running over her lines, trying to get her mark right and adjusting her hair.

While the opening of the broadcast seemed like nothing out of the ordinary, the camera then landed on Yvonne, who shuffled as she searched for a prime position in front of the camera.

She appeared focused on someone off-camera, before adjusting her shoulder-length hair.

Standing behind a desk, Yvonne introduced herself before asking: ‘Do you want me to move that way a bit?’

She then stepped off what appeared to be a box, before bending down to move it over to one side.

‘Okay. Well, in that case, I’ll centre myself,’ she added, as she continued to adjust the step below her feet.

After re-positioning herself, Yvonne stood and silently faced the camera as it zoomed in and out, adjusting its shot.

She then adjusted the waistband of her ensemble, while repeatedly glancing off to the side, before advising the crew that something was ‘off’.

Laughing, Yvonne then added: ‘Laura’s just on the ball.’

She then picked up her phone and walked away, checking her mobile as she walked around the set.

After returning to the desk, Yvonne picked up a drink bottle and took a long sip, before adjusting her hair in a mirror.

She then walked off the set momentarily, before returning and repositioning herself for what was supposed to be the beginning of the live broadcast.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the ABC for comment.
