Amber Heard and her girlfriend Bianca Butti buy snacks before enjoying a beach picnic in San Diego

Amber Heard and her girlfriend Bianca Butti looked happy in love as they stocked up on alcohol and snacks, before joining a pal for a picnic by the beach in San Diego.

The couple, who have been dating since the start of 2020, made a few stops before meeting up with their friend, including grabbing warm beverages from Starbucks.

As the Aquaman star, 34, dutifully carried both her and the 38-year-old LA-based cinematographer’s drinks, Butti closely flanked her side with at least four bottles of wine in her arms for later.

During the bombshell’s latest outing on Tuesday, she showed off her lean figure in a red and white polka-dot tank top, matching cardigan and a pair of black jeans.

She accessorized her casual ensemble with a white paisley print bandana around her neck, chic snakeskin booties and her bright blonde hair in a messy bun.

Meanwhile, her partner wore a grey zip-up hoodie over a white t-shirt with dark-wash jeans and black Converse sneakers.

Later, Heard changed into a grey crewneck sweatshirt for warmth, which she tucked into the front of her pants and left loose at the sides.

In accordance with California’s COVID-19 safety restrictions, which require everyone over the age of two to wear a face covering outside their home with few exceptions, the actress and Butti kept their noses and mouthes covered under cloth masks.

Heard’s fun day comes just a few weeks since her first UK interview after the High Court backed her claims that her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, battered her during their marriage.

In November, Judge Justice Nicol ruled that The Sun’s report alleging Depp, 57, had been violent towards her were ‘substantially true’, and that the Pirates of the Caribbean star had put her in fear for her life as he binged on drink and drugs.

Depp has appealed the High Court’s verdict and is also suing Heard in the US over a separate Washington Post article written two years ago, meaning the actress is unable to speak freely about her legal battle with Depp.

Speaking to Sky News about her new role in a series based on a Stephen King novel, Heard said it had made her to ask questions about being faced with ‘unbelievable circumstances and incredible adversity, and everything being on the line.’

Heard’s new show, The Stand, sees her playing Nadine Cross, one of the survivors of a flu outbreak that kills 99% of the population, prompting a ‘power struggle of good and evil.’

Filming finished in March just before the Covid pandemic spread across the world.

The star, said: ‘Nothing could have prepared me for 2020, let’s face it. I don’t think I’m alone in saying that. I don’t think anything could have prepared me.’

In the latest legal hearing in Virginia between Heard and Depp, Fairfax County Judge Bruce D. White blocked Depp’s attempt to have Heard’s case against him thrown out of court amid a new law, earlier this week.

Heard was allowed to move forward in her $100 million counterclaims case against the actor after his attorney Adam Waldman last year dubbed her allegations of domestic violence ‘fake’ and a ‘sexual violence hoax,’ according to legal docs published on The Hollywood Reporter.

The Kentucky-born actor had tried to use a new anti-SLAPP (strategic lawsuits against public participation) law passed in the state last year to have Heard’s suit tossed.

Depp fell short in his claims of anti-SLAPP immunity, the judge said, noting the lack of public concern and that the Edward Scissorhands actor ‘may have made these statements with actual or constructive knowledge or with reckless disregard for whether they are false.’

The judge added that Depp’s comments and Waldman’s ‘hoax’ remark ‘imply that Ms. Heard lied and perjured herself when she appeared before a court in 2016 to obtain a temporary restraining order against Mr. Depp’ and ‘imply that she has lied about being a victim of domestic violence.

‘In light of the #MeToo Movement and today’s social climate, falsely claiming abuse would surely ‘injure [Heard’s] reputation in the common estimation of mankind,’ the judge wrote in his ruling. ‘Therefore, this Court finds that the statements contain the requisite “sting” for an actionable defamation claim.’

Controversy: Depp has been embroiled in controversy for the better part of 2020, largely due to his libel case against British tabloid The Sun, for calling him a 'wife beater' during his tumultuous marriage with Heard

The judge concluded that Waldman’s remarks do not fall under protected opinion, as ‘whether Mr. Depp abused Ms. Heard is a fact that is capable of being proven true or false.’

In November, Depp was cut from Fantastic Beasts 3 by Warner Bros., as he played Gellert Grindelwald in the J.K. Rowling series.

Depp’s case is slated to head to trial May 3, while Heard’s suit is expected to go before the court later on in the year.
