‘It was so traumatic’: Charlotte Dawson has reflected on the loss of her brother-in-law after he took his own life during the summer

Charlotte told New! magazine: ‘I think she’ll be a bit sad this year as she lost her husband to suicide back in June.

‘That was an absolute nightmare and so traumatic. I just feel so awful for my niece and nephew, but all the more reason to be there for them.’

The mother-to-be explained how she usually visits a memorial statue for her dad, TV icon Les Dawson, on Christmas morning and then heads to her sister’s house.

As she’s pregnant this year, Charlotte said it’ll be noticeably quieter than previous ones where she’s popped prosecco to open presents or been out partying.

‘I promise to look after them forever my cherubs. We all don’t understand and will never know why.’
