Despite putting on a brave face, The First Time Mum reality star revealed she has been in therapy for three years to help recognise ‘bad behaviour patterns’ in her life.

In an Instagram live session on Friday, the mother-of-one discussed her mental health with psychologist Dr Julie Smith as part of the Advent calendar on her Embodyment With Ferne fitness platform, which she launched earlier this year.

Ferne was feeling candid, as she said: ‘I have had therapy for three years, so I’ve done self-worth, I’ve worked through a lot of things. I recognise bad behaviour patterns.’

She continued by discussing her use of social media: ‘It’s all about awareness and acknowledging, which could be really frustrating, for example, this is something I used to do…

‘You know when you are stalking someone on Instagram. You achieve nothing from doing it, and I have to stop myself and tell myself this is toxic and pointless, but sometimes you just can’t help it.’

Fitness fanatic Ferne was reaching out to her followers to help with mental health as well as physical health on the new wellness platform.

She said: ‘Looking after yourself is paramount, as I know when I’m looking after myself, everything else just seems to fall in line or if something ‘goes wrong’ or if it’s not in our plan, which happens a lot, if I’m fuelling my body with good nutrition…

‘If I’m exercising regularly, even if that’s just going out for a walk, even just drinking water, staying hydrated, sleep is massive for me, which is hard with a three year old in my bed…

‘I feel like these are tools that I have got that no one can touch and I can get through my days using these tools.’

Speaking on the power of fitness, Ferne said: ‘I totally agree that exercise has so many benefits, it’s not just about how you can shape up, it’s also a release and having a bit of me time.

‘I just feel like in the past, and sometimes now, it’s so easy to slip backwards and making unhealthy choices, whether that’s relationships or food or not exercising, you know that it’s not good for you but you almost can’t help yourself.’

Embodyment is Ferne’s own online health and fitness platform, which has been incredibly successful since launching this year. The all-in-one subscription aims to help people to burn fat, tone your body or just lead a healthier lifestyle.
