Tania Buckley continues to wear a gold ring following her split with AFL star husband Nathan

AFL star Nathan Buckley and his wife Tania recently revealed they separated 11 months ago following 18 years of marriage.

But WAG Tania is still wearing a gold ring on her wedding finger.

On Tuesday, the mother-of-two was sporting the band during a tense standoff with her estranged husband at their Melbourne marital home.

Ring riddle: Tania Buckley was seen wearing a gold band on her left hand wedding finger during a tense standoff with her estranged husband, AFL star Nathan, on Tuesday

She looks to have ditched her diamond engagement ring following the couple’s marriage breakdown, but continues to wear her wedding band on her right hand.

The gold band on her left hand wedding finger appears to be an entirely different jewel, and it is unclear whether it was a gift from Nathan during the course of their marriage.

The former AFL golden couple quietly separated in January, but only made the news public via an Instagram statement last Friday on Tania’s page.

Before then Tania was a virtual ghost on social media, and her last post was a happy snap with her girlfriend back in early March.

And despite almost a year passing since her split with the Collingwood star, Tania has kept the last name ‘Buckley’ on her Instagram profile, as well as a red carpet photo of the pair as her profile picture.

Jewels: It appears Tania may still be rocking her gold wedding band from her 18-year marriage to the AFL star on her right hand (left), and another ring on her wedding ring finger (right)

On Tuesday, the former couple appeared tense during a standoff in the driveway of their marital home.

During the brief encounter neither managed to muster a smile.

Nathan was not seen wearing his wedding band as he came to collect his golf clubs from the Melbourne address this week.

Since their split, Tania and Nathan have been co-parenting their two sons – Ayce, 12, and Jett, 14- but kept the surprise breakup largely under wraps.

‘It has been a tough and challenging year for every family and for ours included,’ their statement on Friday read.

‘It is with the utmost of love and respect for each other and a true commitment to our sons, that we made a decision to separate in January.

After the Magpies lost the AFL Grand Final to Richmond in Queensland, Nathan moved out of the family home when he returned to Melbourne.

He’s reportedly now staying at an apartment in South Yarra, which is owned by his friend Paul Roberts, a TLA sports executive.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Nathan’s management for comment.
