BEAT THE COLD

It may be grey outside, but that doesn’t mean your wardrobe has to be. Instead, this winter team your trusty neutral basics with pops of pink, red, orange or anything else ultra bright.

Not only were there bold styles on the catwalk at Hermes and Gucci, but luxe designer website Net-a-Porter predicts we’ll all be wearing this mood-enhancing trend next season, too — so it’s worth a savvy purchase now.

STAY SOPHISTICATED

Rainbow clothes, as my son calls them, are more sophisticated than they sound. Where pastels are soft and a bit too sweet, a bright tone creates a strong and confident look that’s not for shrinking violets.

DRAW ALL EYES

Don’t be put off if it feels daunting to go head-to-toe. Just a glimpse is all it takes, as demonstrated by Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber.

She wore an acid-green shirt with only the cuffs and collar peeking out of her blazer for the Bottega Veneta show. Plus, if you wear the colour in an area you want to bring attention to, it will draw the eye instantly.

MOOD BOOSTERS

Dreaming of blue skies? Try some escapism and let them come to you with this cyan fluffy alpaca jumper from Paloma Wool at Liberty. Or what about adding some joy to the kitchen disco with fuchsia heels f rom Fai th (both pictured below)?
