The Rock, 48, roasts his buck-toothed younger self in a throwback photo: ‘No way this stud doesn’t grow up to become Sexiest Man Alive’

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was feeling nostalgic on Thursday as he posted a throwback photo to Instagram. 

The 48-year-old actor shared a photo of himself as a seven-year-old boy growing up in Hawaii as he hilariously dissected his younger self. 

‘No way this stud doesn’t grow up to become Sexiest Man Alive,’ the Jumanji star wrote after roasting himself.

‘Throwback to 7 years old in Hawaii, and just drippin’ cool with my buck teeth, aloha shirt and WTF is going on with my afro matted down on one side!?,’ he wrote as he shared his second grade yearbook photo. 

The Rampage actor then joked that seven-year-old him would certainly grow up to become People’s Sexiest Man Alive – an honor which he received in 2016 – as he hashtagged self-deprecatingly. 

‘#HellooooLadies #BuckyJohnson #SmellsLikeHotDogs #Kingof2ndGrade,’ he wrote. 

Despite having an awkward stage, The Rock has grown up to be anything but, and certainly does not smell like hot dogs.

On the cover for People, he was described as ‘sweet, smart & sculpted,’ as he secured the coveted honor just four years ago. 

His social media post comes amid production for The Rock’s new comedy, Young Rock, that follows his journey from childhood to fame.

As he looks back on his life, The Rock is unearthing a lot of memories about himself and his personality.

He took to Instagram in late September to announce the actors that would play him at every stage of his life, revealing a bit about himself at the time. 

‘At 10yrs old, I was rambunctious as all hell, was already girl crazy, and loved pro wrestling,’ he wrote. The show is slated to premiere on NBC sometime in 2021. 

In recent weeks, the Rock continues to get back to work on his upcoming film, Red Notice, after recovering from the Coronavirus.
