Britt Ekland reveals she flashes pictures of herself as a bikini-clad Bond girl to avoid airports customs delays

Britt Ekland has revealed her tactic for avoiding delays at airport customs and passport control – flashing a picture of herself as a Bond girl to the men on the desk.

The 77-year-old says she always carries photographs of her as the bikini-clad Mary Goodnight in the 1974 film The Man With The Golden Gun. The Swedish actress showed off a folder of glamorous snaps during the final episode of The Real Marigold Hotel on BBC1 on Thursday night.

‘When I’m travelling I always take with me Bond photos because it’s very handy when you go through customs,’ Miss Ekland said. ‘In case there’s a problem you can always have a Bond photo lying around.’

She added: ‘It’s quite a privilege to be a Bond girl. It’s like an international club. I’m thrilled and grateful to be a Bond girl. It’s the greatest gift my profession has given me.’

One photograph she showed on the programme was of her sitting at a table in a blue and black bikini in The Man With The Golden Gun.

Another was a publicity still for the film with Roger Moore as 007.

Miss Ekland, who also starred in The Wicker Man and Get Carter, was among eight celebrities who took part in the fourth series of The Real Marigold Hotel, travelling around India to see whether they would like to retire there.

She gave one host that the group stayed with a signed picture of herself in a red bikini and wearing a flower in her hair.
